"Bailu" is an important solar term reflecting the growth of cold air in nature. As the cold air turns defensive to offensive, the sun is still hot during the day, but the temperature drops quickly after dusk, and the temperature difference between day and night gradually widens.
When it comes to Bailu, the summer monsoon is gradually replaced by the winter monsoon, and the cold air turns from defensive to offensive. In addition, the point of direct sunlight moves southward, the sunshine time in the northern hemisphere becomes shorter, the light intensity weakens, and the ground radiates heat faster, so the temperature drop speed gradually accelerates. . The white dew has basically ended the sweltering heat of the summer, and the weather has gradually turned cooler, with dew condensed due to the cold. The ancients used the four seasons to match the five elements, and autumn belonged to gold, golden and white, and white dew was used to describe autumn dew, so it was named "white dew".
